Bear Hotel, Cowbridge, 20th October 2023
As choristers both past and present gathered at The Bear, Cowbridge, the common refrain was “how time flies!” Many of the choristers present were at the “Eisteddfod Choir” concert conducted by Alun John at the Eisteddfod held in Bridgend. This went on to become Côr Bro Ogwr. The evening was a celebration of many concerts, both here and abroad, and the family spirit the choir has created. Some of us may have more silvery hair – or less – and possibly a few more wrinkles, but our voices and enthusiasm have remained strong.
Our musical conductor, Ben Pinnow, paid tribute to all our past conductors, and thanked choristers, committee members and our long serving Chairman John Trotter for the support given him. John also referred to the support he has had (yes, we have had some moments of crisis!) and thanked Yvonne Hudd for organising the evening in her usual excellent fashion.
And then it was time to mingle and chat with friends. The smiles on everyone’s faces in the photos show what a happy occasion it was.
